The other days, Tyrese Gibson, one of the most beloved actors of the series, visited us in our Regal cinemas in the US and enjoyed the experience of watching a movie in 4DX. The actor was very happy to return to the cinema to watch the movie alongside fans.
In an interview with ScreenRant, Gibson talked about the strong community around this franchise and how watching these movies in theaters has become a tradition for fans and actors alike.”To me, watching the movies with the fans who have been rocking with us for 20 years or 10 years or whatever - people were in high school, and they're married now. They have fiancés, they have kids, they have teenagers.It's now this family tradition for the boyfriend, the girlfriend, the kids - we're all going to see this together. A lot of women can find themselves saying, "I'm not into action movies," but they'll say, "All of the men in the movie are handsome, and we want to go see the handsome men." And the fellows want to go see the sexy ladies, so everybody has something that's going on in the Fast and the Furious that they want to see.”
”I feel really honored and grateful to be a part of something that has such a cult following. And proudly, we just hit 6 billion in the box office worldwide, which is no small feat. Especially because we don't have 40 years of people reading Fast and Furious comic books to then have it become a movie. Or it wasn't a TV show that became a movie. It was all from an article in Vibe magazine about the underground car culture in New York. And here we are 20 years later, still releasing these movies. And in most cases, we're all like, "I don't know why they love us the way they do, but thank God they did."
